THE SHORT ANSWER

TLDR

Sanlorenzo is an Italian yacht builder founded in 1958, known for a made-to-measure approach. Its SL, SD, SX and SP families differ in hull concept, layout and cruising priorities. On the French Riviera, compare exact specifications and ownership costs rather than assuming similar lengths mean similar yachts. Our service is an independent buyer-side search, not authorised dealership representation or a live sales catalogue.

HERITAGE

What is the history of Sanlorenzo?

Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia founded the yard in 1958 at Limite sull’Arno, near Florence. Sanlorenzo later moved its headquarters to Ameglia. Its corporate history positions individualisation and controlled production as central to its identity.

The range expanded across planing, semi-displacement and crossover yachts, alongside larger metal-built superyachts. For a pre-owned buyer, customisation matters: two yachts carrying the same model name can have meaningfully different layouts, equipment and maintenance requirements.

MODELS, NOT MARKETING RANKINGS

Which Sanlorenzo models should you compare?

What do we know about the best-selling models?

The official sources cited here do not establish a current model-by-model best-seller ranking. Sanlorenzo’s investor material discusses builder position and controlled production, which are not equivalent to retail sales by model. SL, SD, SX and SP should therefore be compared by their suitability, not presented as a ranked popularity list.

Model examples below help you form a shortlist. New and pre-owned configurations vary; inclusion does not confirm current availability.

SL / SL86 and asymmetric models

Planing motor yachts; selected asymmetric models rethink circulation and internal space.

Before you buy: Confirm the precise model designation and individual layout rather than inferring it from a similar length.

SD / SD90 and SD96

Semi-displacement yachts aimed at a different cruising profile from the SL line.

Before you buy: Compare real operating range, passage speed, tank capacities and comfort with your intended itinerary.

SX / SX76, SX88 and SX100

Crossover yachts with an emphasis on connected living spaces and the aft outdoor area.

Before you buy: Review tender arrangements, boarding, beach-area use and propulsion access on the actual hull.

SP / SP92 and SP110

Sport-coupé yachts offering a performance-oriented alternative within the brand.

Before you buy: Have propulsion, systems and maintenance requirements evaluated by specialists familiar with the model.

LOOKING AHEAD

What is Sanlorenzo’s future vision?

Sanlorenzo’s January 2025 corporate presentation emphasises made-to-measure production and controlled volumes. Its product direction combines layout innovation with work on alternative onboard energy systems, rather than simply making every yacht larger.

The 50Steel Almax, delivered in 2024, introduced a methanol-reforming fuel-cell system for onboard hotel loads. Sanlorenzo describes up to 100 kW with engines and generators inactive. This concerns onboard services, not fuel-cell propulsion, and does not make every Sanlorenzo zero-emission. Fuel sourcing and operating conditions remain important.

These are dated manufacturer statements and developments, not promises of future resale values, delivery times or environmental performance. Supporting publications are listed below.

YOUR YACHT. YOUR RIVIERA.

How do you buy a Sanlorenzo on the French Riviera?

Treat the survey as a review of one bespoke yacht, not a generic model. Request as-built drawings, equipment lists and refit records. Berth beam, draft, shore power and crew logistics are particularly important before choosing a larger Riviera-based yacht.

Yachting on the Côte d’Azur is a sister company of Living on the Côte d’Azur, led by Anthony Laudin. Our starting point is your brief, followed by a buyer-side search across the market and introductions to independent specialists when needed. We are not presented here as an authorised Sanlorenzo dealer, and no boat on this page is a confirmed sales listing.

  1. Define your brief. Guests, cruising plans, budget and timing guide the acquisition journey. Read how to buy a yacht on the French Riviera before shortlisting.
  2. Confirm the yacht and the documents. Request title, tax and registration evidence, service history and refit records. Commission an independent survey and sea trial before committing.
  3. Cost the whole ownership plan. Use our Finance & Ownership guide to separate purchase costs from annual berth, crew, insurance, fuel and maintenance budgets. Obtain yacht-specific quotes.
  4. Secure a workable home port. Compare Cannes, Antibes and the coast towards Monaco using the 57-marina directory. Read how Riviera waiting lists work; a seller’s berth does not automatically transfer.

Are there Sanlorenzo yachts available now?

Availability changes and must be confirmed with the seller or appointed representative. This page does not maintain live inventory. Send your criteria through our confidential yacht brief so the search can be shaped around your requirements.

What does a Sanlorenzo cost?

There is no responsible single price for the brand. Model, age, condition, specification, tax status and location all matter. Asking prices are not completed-sale evidence. Request a yacht-specific comparison and independent legal and tax advice before agreeing terms.
