THE SHORT ANSWER

TLDR

Francis Lapp established Sunreef’s production site and office in Gdańsk in 2002; its first 74-foot flybridge catamaran launched in 2003. Its luxury sailing, Power and Eco offerings require different operational plans. Riviera buyers should prioritise berth width, crew, custom equipment and technical support. We provide buyer-side guidance, without claiming Sunreef dealership status or live inventory.

HERITAGE

What is the history of Sunreef?

Sunreef’s official history records Francis Lapp establishing the production site and office in Gdańsk, Poland, in 2002. The first 74-foot luxury oceangoing flybridge catamaran launched in 2003.

The yard developed sailing and power catamarans with substantial customisation. Its launched-yachts archive documents individual delivered yachts. For a buyer, this makes the exact build and equipment records especially important: a model name does not fully describe a customised vessel.

MODELS, NOT MARKETING RANKINGS

Which Sunreef models should you compare?

What do we know about the best-selling models?

Sunreef’s sources document its first 2003 launch and individual delivered yachts, but do not establish a current model-level best-seller ranking. A launched-yacht archive is not a complete sales database. The Sunreef 60, 80 and Power examples below are comparison points, not a ranking of Riviera demand.

Model examples below help you form a shortlist. New and pre-owned configurations vary; inclusion does not confirm current availability.

Sunreef 60

A luxury sailing-catamaran family for buyers comparing custom layouts and cruising use.

Before you buy: Review the actual rig, accommodation, systems and as-built drawings; custom equipment can vary substantially.

Sunreef 80

A larger sailing-catamaran family with more extensive onboard living and operations.

Before you buy: Establish crew and maintenance needs and confirm suitable berth width, utilities and shore access.

70 / 100 Sunreef Power

Motor-catamaran alternatives requiring a different range and propulsion assessment.

Before you buy: Budget fuel at realistic speeds and inspect propulsion, generators and handling systems independently.

Eco versions

Versions associated with solar integration, energy management and alternative propulsion.

Before you buy: Do not infer specifications from the Eco label: verify batteries, propulsion, backup generation and service support.

LOOKING AHEAD

What is Sunreef’s future vision?

Sunreef promotes electric propulsion, integrated solar systems, energy management and material choices through its Eco range. These are manufacturer product statements, not independently verified whole-life environmental results.

Solar yield, battery endurance and electric range depend on configuration, weather and onboard demand. A yacht’s Eco designation does not establish zero-emission operation in every condition. Before buying, obtain an independent review of charging, redundancy, battery health and long-term technical support.

These are dated manufacturer statements and developments, not promises of future resale values, delivery times or environmental performance. Supporting publications are listed below.

YOUR YACHT. YOUR RIVIERA.

How do you buy a Sunreef on the French Riviera?

A large customised catamaran needs a complete ownership plan before purchase: berth dimensions, crew, insurance and support for bespoke systems. For an Eco-equipped yacht, review propulsion and hotel-load performance separately and request realistic operating data, not just brochure autonomy.

Yachting on the Côte d’Azur is a sister company of Living on the Côte d’Azur, led by Anthony Laudin. Our starting point is your brief, followed by a buyer-side search across the market and introductions to independent specialists when needed. We are not presented here as an authorised Sunreef dealer, and no boat on this page is a confirmed sales listing.

  1. Define your brief. Guests, cruising plans, budget and timing guide the acquisition journey. Read how to buy a yacht on the French Riviera before shortlisting.
  2. Confirm the yacht and the documents. Request title, tax and registration evidence, service history and refit records. Commission an independent survey and sea trial before committing.
  3. Cost the whole ownership plan. Use our Finance & Ownership guide to separate purchase costs from annual berth, crew, insurance, fuel and maintenance budgets. Obtain yacht-specific quotes.
  4. Secure a workable home port. Compare Cannes, Antibes and the coast towards Monaco using the 57-marina directory. Read how Riviera waiting lists work; a seller’s berth does not automatically transfer.

Are there Sunreef yachts available now?

Availability changes and must be confirmed with the seller or appointed representative. This page does not maintain live inventory. Send your criteria through our confidential yacht brief so the search can be shaped around your requirements.

What does a Sunreef cost?

There is no responsible single price for the brand. Model, age, condition, specification, tax status and location all matter. Asking prices are not completed-sale evidence. Request a yacht-specific comparison and independent legal and tax advice before agreeing terms.
