THE SHORT ANSWER

TLDR

Azimut was founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969 and developed from a yacht-chartering business into an Italian motor-yacht manufacturer. Fly, S, Magellano, Grande and Seadeck offer different approaches to speed, space and cruising. French Riviera buyers should compare the individual yacht’s specification, service records and berth needs. We work from your purchase brief, without claiming dealer status or currently available stock.

HERITAGE

What is the history of Azimut?

Paolo Vitelli founded Azimut in 1969 as a yacht-chartering business. The company’s official history records its development into yacht building and its first Turin headquarters in 1973.

Azimut later became part of the Azimut|Benetti Group, with a range spanning flybridge yachts, sportier motor yachts and larger vessels. Azimut and Benetti remain distinct brands: a group achievement must not be presented as a model-level Azimut sales record.

MODELS, NOT MARKETING RANKINGS

Which Azimut models should you compare?

What do we know about the best-selling models?

In December 2024, Azimut|Benetti reported first place in the 2025 Global Order Book for yachts over 24 metres, with 164 units under construction. This is a group-level construction/order-book measure, not Azimut-only retail sales or a ranking of individual models. The ranges below are comparison starting points, not verified Riviera best sellers.

Model examples below help you form a shortlist. New and pre-owned configurations vary; inclusion does not confirm current availability.

Fly

Flybridge motor yachts for outdoor living and conventional Mediterranean cruising.

Before you buy: Compare stabilisation, deck shade, cabin arrangement and shore-power requirements.

S

Sport-oriented yachts with an emphasis on design and performance.

Before you buy: Review propulsion type and maintenance with a specialist familiar with the exact installation.

Magellano

Crossover yachts oriented towards relaxed cruising and longer journeys.

Before you buy: Validate fuel consumption, usable range and comfort at the speeds you intend to cruise.

Grande and Seadeck

Grande addresses larger-yacht living; Seadeck explores hybrid-focused, indoor-outdoor cruising.

Before you buy: Treat these as distinct propositions. Confirm the actual hybrid system, charging arrangements and support where fitted.

LOOKING AHEAD

What is Azimut’s future vision?

Azimut introduced the Seadeck series in 2023, describing hybrid technology and recycled or recyclable materials. Its “up to 40%” emissions-reduction claim depends on the manufacturer’s comparison and use assumptions; it is not a universal real-world result for every Seadeck yacht.

The Azimut|Benetti Group’s September 2025 outlook set out infrastructure investment and product expansion. This is a group strategy, not a guarantee of delivery dates or resale values. For buyers, the useful question is whether new systems have accessible maintenance and support throughout the ownership period.

These are dated manufacturer statements and developments, not promises of future resale values, delivery times or environmental performance. Supporting publications are listed below.

YOUR YACHT. YOUR RIVIERA.

How do you buy a Azimut on the French Riviera?

Decide whether your real priority is flybridge space, sportier cruising or a more relaxed operating profile. In any hybrid-equipped yacht, include a technical review of batteries, control systems and service support alongside the normal survey.

Yachting on the Côte d’Azur is a sister company of Living on the Côte d’Azur, led by Anthony Laudin. Our starting point is your brief, followed by a buyer-side search across the market and introductions to independent specialists when needed. We are not presented here as an authorised Azimut dealer, and no boat on this page is a confirmed sales listing.

  1. Define your brief. Guests, cruising plans, budget and timing guide the acquisition journey. Read how to buy a yacht on the French Riviera before shortlisting.
  2. Confirm the yacht and the documents. Request title, tax and registration evidence, service history and refit records. Commission an independent survey and sea trial before committing.
  3. Cost the whole ownership plan. Use our Finance & Ownership guide to separate purchase costs from annual berth, crew, insurance, fuel and maintenance budgets. Obtain yacht-specific quotes.
  4. Secure a workable home port. Compare Cannes, Antibes and the coast towards Monaco using the 57-marina directory. Read how Riviera waiting lists work; a seller’s berth does not automatically transfer.

Are there Azimut yachts available now?

Availability changes and must be confirmed with the seller or appointed representative. This page does not maintain live inventory. Send your criteria through our confidential yacht brief so the search can be shaped around your requirements.

What does a Azimut cost?

There is no responsible single price for the brand. Model, age, condition, specification, tax status and location all matter. Asking prices are not completed-sale evidence. Request a yacht-specific comparison and independent legal and tax advice before agreeing terms.
